ACOM 390 - Advanced Language Topics: Italian

Advanced Italian Language Topics is an advanced Italian language course that focuses on the development of language skills to advance students’ communication in Italian. In conjunction with grammar, the course concentrates on situations in the business of fashion and the Italian business terminology that one would apply in these situations. The course builds on the major verb tenses: the present, past and future along with the conditional mood. It incorporates a higher level of grammar concepts while cultivating students’ speaking, listening comprehension, writing and reading in Italian so that students may express themselves in a more sophisticated manner. It is expected that students enter the course with a strong foundation at the intermediate level of Italian and possess several years of high school Italian. In addition to the language component, Italian culture will thrive throughout the course as topics on Italian ways of life and social issues are presented.
3 credits
Prerequisite: Enrollment in the Fashion Scholars Program or four years of study in the language or by permission of the Dean of Academics
