ACOM 266 - Psychology


This course introduces students to the major schools of thought and essential language of psychology. In dialogue with the students’ own experience, learning interests and questions, course material includes a comprehensive view of psychology, utilizing four major psychological perspectives: psychodynamic (Freudian), behaviorist, humanistic, and cognitive-developmental. Topics include personality development, motivation, learning, and abnormality. Students explore identity and human potential and will develop a basic vocabulary in psychology, an understanding of the major perspectives in psychology, and the ability to think critically about the dynamics of human behavior. (offered in Spring only)
