HIST 2365 - Future History

Arts & Sciences
In this course, students explore the geopolitical issues shaping their future as global citizens. Topics include emergent phenomena likely to define near and long-term experience including environmental crisis, weapons of mass destruction, artificial intelligence, the extraction economy, viral pandemic, genetic manipulation, and the growth of stateless corporate entities of massive influence. The course will help students understand the role both state and non-state actors will play in managing these forces and will anticipate the ways current technologies and social norms will evolve into a radically new world order.
