STSA 2238 - Global LondonArts & Sciences This multi-disciplinary course will guide students on a select tour of London’s cultural and historical venues. Classroom learning is supplemented by excursions to major cultural sites, possibly including: The Tate Modern, Victoria and Albert Museum, West End theatrical productions, The British Museum, The British Library, The National Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery, The National Theater, and Shakespeare’s Globe. Visits and discussions will emphasize London’s extraordinary cosmopolitanism and will place its cultural history in global contexts. Coursework will explore the hybridities of the British cultural tradition and also reckon with its colonial legacies. Classroom components will offer historical and formal contexts for visual, written and performed works. credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1100
