ECON 2100H - Honors Economics

This course introduces students to the major elements of market economies, both in the United States and globally. It offers an overview of fundamental economic principles and covers the trends and news impacting the economy today. Key topic areas include microeconomic principles such as supply and demand and macroeconomic measures such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and inflation. Also covered are the business cycle, the role of government, the global economy, and frameworks for non-orthodox approaches, such as Freakonomics. The course connects theoretical concepts with real-world applications, encouraging critical thinking about economic issues while preparing students for the fashion and lifestyle industries.
