COMM 3421 - Film Stardom and CelebrityArts & Sciences Department This course examines the making and consumption of film stardom and celebrity in the media industries. Students will learn how stardom and celebrity are manufactured and commodified in ways specific to film, television, and digital media platforms, as well as how they are shaped by factors including performance, cultural interpretations, ideology, racial and gender identity, journalism, and fandom. credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1100
