Graduate Admissions


 

LIM College accepts applications on a rolling admission basis. Applications will be accepted at any time, until all openings are filled. However, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Once all application requirements are met, the Admissions Committee will notify applicants within two to four weeks of its decision.

Application Requirements

To be considered for admission, the following must be submitted*:

  1. The completed Application for Admission
  2. A $40 nonrefundable application fee or approved fee waiver
  3. Official transcript from the institution which the applicant holds or will hold an Undergraduate degree**
    • Students may be evaluated for admission using an unofficial transcript, if an official transcript is not available at the time of decision.
  4. One letter of recommendation
  5. An in-person or virtual interview
  6. A CV or resume demonstrating chronological work experience

*The Vice President of Enrollment Services reserves the right to:

  1. Waive admission requirements at their discretion.
  2. Deny admission to any applicant without assigning reason.
  3. Revoke offers of admissions. (See Admission Decision Rescindment for more information.)

**LIM reserves the right to request additional transcripts for applicants who attended multiple institutions. An official final transcript with proof of graduation is required for all students.

International Students

International students are required to submit all application materials and required documents in English. International students are also required to provide evidence of English proficiency, through one of the following ways:

  1. Diagnostic exam of English proficiency (such as TOEFL)*
  2. Prior academic coursework
  3. English language learning certificate from an LIM College partner language school
  4. English is a native language of the student’s country of origin.

*Official scores must be less than two years old

All instances that do not fit within these specified criteria will be judged on a case-by-case basis. After review of the application, the Office of Admissions reserves the right to request additional documentation and/or translation of materials in support of the application. Specific details on proficiency can be found on the LIM College website in the International Admissions section.

U.S. citizens who have completed most of their coursework abroad may be considered international students for admissions purposes.

Acceptance and Enrollment at LIM College

Official notification of an offer of admission can only be made by an Admissions Office administrator.  An email will be sent to the student from the Admissions department that includes official notification of acceptance.

A letter or email from a faculty member, student, or staff member outside the Admissions Office does not constitute an official offer of admission. Official notification will not be communicated via social media or telephone.

Upon acceptance to our on-campus degree program, to be considered an enrolled student at LIM College each student is required to submit a $500 non-refundable enrollment deposit and a Tuition Agreement Form. On-campus students must provide immunization records prior to attending classes.

All enrolled students at LIM College are responsible for tuition and fees (as well as the costs associated with any LIM College-sponsored events in which the student participates). These fees are charged each term in which the student is enrolled.

Admissions Policies

Submission of Official Documents

Applicants must submit an official transcript from the institution from which they hold or will hold an undergraduate degree. Transcripts may be requested from all other colleges or universities attended at the undergraduate or graduate level to make an admissions decision. Official transcripts and proof of graduation documents may be delivered by mail, email or through a third-party service, such as Naviance or Parchment. To be considered official, documents must come directly from the issuing institution or third-party service. Official documents should bear an official stamp or official wet or electronic signature. LIM College reserves the right to approve other third-party servicers or consider additional submission types as official.

If documents are from another country, they may need to be submitted to an education credential services to determine U.S. degree and GPA equivalency. All documents not written in English must be submitted along with a certified English translation to an evaluation agency approved by National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

The Admissions department reserves the right to request transcripts for returning students and LIM College alumni on the students’ behalf. 

Proof of Graduation Policy

Graduate students must provide proof of college graduation (an earned bachelor’s degree or its equivalent).* 

Proof of graduation is identified as one of the following:

  • A final official College transcript received sealed with a graduation date and may contain a signature or seal (may be raised or not raised)
  • An official diploma which LIM College personnel photocopy
  • Digital proof of graduation received via email from a school official, or through an approved third-party vendor

LIM College will accept an unofficial copy of your documentation for your first semester. A final official copy of the documentation must be received prior to registering for your second semester of study. In addition, a final official copy of the documentation must be received by the end of the add/drop period of the students entering term to receive financial aid. * The Admissions department reserves the right to request official proof of graduation for LIM College alumni on the student’s behalf.

Admission Decision Rescindment

LIM College reserves the right to rescind the admission of any student for the following reasons:

  • The student does not provide final official proof of undergraduate degree
  • The student self-reports a GPA that differs from their official undergraduate transcript(s)
  • Different information is provided on the admissions application and the FAFSA and cannot be reconciled
  • There is evidence of an omission or dishonest statement on the college application
