MATH 1300H - Honors Introduction to StatisticsArts & Sciences Department This course provides an introduction to statistical analysis with an emphasis on business applications. It develops conceptual understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics through a hands-on approach while exploring different business scenarios. Spreadsheet software and graphing calculators are used to facilitate the coverage of topics and enrich students’ understanding. Topics covered include descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency, variability, and position) and inferential statistics (probability, discrete and continuous distributions, correlation and regression analysis, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing). Honors students are additionally required to complete a semester-long project that includes developing and conducting a survey, and analyzing, reporting, and presenting results. credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): TECH 1310 and enrollment in the Fashion Scholars Program, or by permission of the Department Chair
