STSA 2410 - Rebirth and Revolution: The Arts in FlorenceArts & Sciences Department Students will learn the arts in Florence with a focus on the radical and enduring innovations of the Renaissance. Taught as an immersive experience in Florence, Italy, all classes take place in hands-on workshops or field trips to major museums, architectural landmarks, and other cultural sites. Students will view some of the world’s most famous works of art firsthand, gaining in-depth knowledge of the stylistic characteristics and social, political and cultural context in which they were made. Emphasis is on Renaissance painting and sculpture, but architecture, interior design, fashion, food, leather, and paper arts are also covered. credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1100
