INTD 1321 - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Theory & Practice

Arts & Sciences Department
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices have evolved from a focus on compliance to an essential competitive advantage for organizations. Companies with a diverse and inclusive workforce consistently demonstrate higher productivity, innovation, and profit margins. Beyond the benefits to organizations, DEI work is essential to the advancement of social justice in today’s world. But how do you foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization? This course provides a foundational understanding of DEI terminology, theory, concepts, and practices. Through a combination of theory, self-reflection, and case studies, students will gain a deeper understanding of DEI literature, build on their self-awareness, and learn how to apply effective inclusive strategies within organizations.
