FASH 3518 - Non-Apparel Retailing and Buying Fashion Merchandising & Marketing Department This course examines the differences between the retailing and buying functions for apparel versus non-apparel sectors of the industry. Retailing principles and promotional techniques unique to non-apparel retailers, inventory planning and control, logistics, buying, pricing, and visual presentation will be analyzed and discussed. The competitive marketplace will be examined to learn how existing retailers are entering this sector to increase their sales. The impact of the evolving non-apparel supply chain on retailers and the consumer will be addressed, and case studies and projects will be used as a means to apply theoretical concepts. credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): FASH 1210
