MNGT 4630 - Global Human Resource Management

Business Department
Students develop an understanding of how human resource (HR) professionals who work in multinational corporations face challenges that arise from conducting business in more than one country. Because of complex cultural differences, HR policies and procedures vary throughout the world. Organized by regions around the globe, this course analyzes the various cross-cultural issues that HR professionals face as they select, maintain and develop a quality global workforce. Students gain an understanding of home and host countries, global assignments, expatriates, repatriation, local employment law, labor issues, unions, benefits and compensation, privacy and data protection, European Union directives and regulations, equality, and ethics. Case studies and team projects are assigned to reinforce the critical role that HR plays in managing people in today’s dynamic global business environment.
