CARE 2620 - Internship 2 Career & Internship Services For their second internship, students either explore a different area of interest or dive deeper into their chosen specialty by taking on more significant responsibilities, more rigorous and impactful projects, or even managerial responsibilities. Having already successfully completed a prior internship, students are equipped with the professional skills and additional knowledge to be competent contributors.
As with the prior internship, the details of this work-based learning experience will be agreed upon by the student in conjunction with the course instructor and the internship site supervisor. The experience must be a real-world application of classroom knowledge that allows students to explore the industry, acquire valuable job skills, build professional relationships, and focus on and refine their career goals.
Students will engage in weekly class meetings (in-person or online) and assignments to reflect on and analyze their current internships, in addition to contrasting them with their prior internship experiences. The instructor will support and guide students through their internships by providing professional development opportunities and encouraging peer-to-peer learning to help them make the most of their internships. Students will present an analysis of their internship experience at the end of the semester. credit(s): 2 Prerequisite(s): CARE 1300, CARE 1620
