ACOM 214 - Twentieth Century American History This course looks at the most tumultuous century in the nation’s history, our country’s rise to world prominence, and its great successes and failures. The multifarious nature of America, the joys and plights of the American people, and the “experiment in democracy” are examined from the perspective of the American people, especially those who have been “forgotten” in history, through texts, films, lectures, and, when applicable, field trips.
