ACOM 102 - Research and Analysis This course helps students become skilled in information literacy, research, and analysis. Students are taught about search terms, search engines, print sources, and databases as means to gather valid, scholarly, and compelling research. Students create a hypothesis around a topic, generate research questions, search and extract information from a variety of sources, and evaluate sources and findings to generate a thesis and organizational outline for a full-length research essay, which is submitted as the final project. A portfolio of the student’s work is compiled over the course of the semester.
