2024-2025 College Catalog
Readmission
|
|
This policy applies to students who left the institution with an in-progress graduate degree program from LIM College or the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (the College).
In order to be best prepared to resume studies, it is highly recommended that students initiate the readmission process at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester in which they plan to return.
Eligibility and Conditions
A student must have been in good academic and disciplinary standing at the time they left the College. If not, they may need additional clearances prior to reapplying (see Clearances section below)
- Graduate students who have not been registered** at the College for less than one full academic year must reapply through the Office of the Registrar. Graduate students who have not been registered** at the College for a full academic year or more must reapply through Admissions. When reapplication is processed by Admissions then the Dean of Graduate studies must be consulted prior to readmitting a student.
- A student will be readmitted under the current major and degree requirements in effect during the semester in which they return. Students are advised to contact Graduate Studies or the Office of the Registrar if they have questions as to how this may affect their progress towards the completion of their degree program. In some cases, due to potential degree completion concerns, the academic graduate studies department may recommend a student change their degree program to the Business of Fashion.
- Credits previously earned at the College or transferred in from previous college work cannot be applied to the current degree if over ten years old at the time the student resumes studies.
** Registered includes semesters in which a student was registered for any courses, was on matriculation maintenance or semesters from which a student withdrew.
