Readmission


This policy applies to undergraduate LIM College students who have not been granted a bachelor’s degree from LIM College or the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (the College).

In order to be best prepared to resume studies, it is highly recommended that students initiate the readmission process at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester in which they plan to return.

Eligibility and Conditions

A student must have been in good academic and disciplinary standing at the time they left the College. If not, they may need additional clearances prior to reapplying (see Clearances section below).

  • A student may only be readmitted into the division they were in at the time they left the college. Students who wish to change divisions must do so after readmission.
  • Undergraduate Main Campus Division students who have not been registered** at the College for less than three full academic years must reapply to the institution through the Office of the Registrar. Undergraduate Main Campus Division students who have not been registered** at the College for three years or more must reapply through Admissions.
  • Undergraduate Online Division students who have not been registered** at the College for less than one full academic year must reapply through the Office of the Registrar. Undergraduate Online Division students who have not been registered** at the College for one year or more must reapply through Admissions.
  • A student will be readmitted under the current major and degree requirements in effect during the semester in which they return. Students are advised to contact Academic Advising or the Office of the Registrar, if they have questions as to how this may affect their progress towards the completion of their degree program.

** Registered includes semesters in which a student was registered for any courses, was on    matriculation maintenance or semesters from which a student withdrew.

Clearances

Students who left on hold with one or more academic and/or administrative office must satisfy all applicable considerations including but not limited to the following prior to reapplying:

  1. Students who left on an approved Medical leave or Medical withdrawal must be cleared by the Office of Counseling Services prior to reapplying. Contact counseling@limcollege.edu for more information.
  2. Students who left on probation must be cleared by the Director of Academic Support Services prior to reapplying. Contact academicprobation@limcollege.edu for more information.
  3. Students who left on disciplinary hold must be cleared by the director of the Disciplinary Hearing Board prior to reapplying. Contact studentaffairs@limcollege.edu for more information.
  4. Students who are currently on a financial hold must be cleared by Student Financial Services prior to reapplying. Contact SFS@limcollege.edu for more information.

Students who have been permanently dismissed may not reapply to the College.

The readmittance policy does not apply to LIM College Marcuse School of Graduate Studies programs. Alumni or students who wish to be considered for admission to LIM graduate programs must apply directly to LIM College Marcuse School of Graduate Studies.
