Statement of Shared Responsibility and Acknowledgment of Unique Circumstances for 2020-2021: Health & Safety

The COVID-19 pandemic has created unique challenges not only in the United States but around the world. The pandemic has changed how we live, learn, and work. It has also altered how we interact with others. None of us can know with certainty what the future holds, but at LIM College, we do know this - we are going to have a different and full College experience in the 2020-2021 academic year. We are working hard and are confident that whatever shape the academic and non-academic curriculum takes, it will be the excellent, collegial and productive experience that we all deserve and will cherish.

  • LIM College is committed to the health and safety of the entire community. The welfare of every member of our community has been and will continue to be at the forefront of decisions made.  Having said that, none of us can guarantee what shape COVID-19 will take, and none of us - including LIM College - can guarantee a COVID-19-free environment. This is simply not feasible. It would be disingenuous to suggest otherwise. In complete transparency, all students who choose to return to the physical campus of LIM College understand that there is some risk for contracting COVID-19. Please be aware that we are taking all required steps to mitigate this risk, but we cannot categorically guarantee this will not happen.
  • Taking steps to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infections (or any other spread of disease) at LIM College is a shared responsibility. Every member of our community must do their part. This means adhering to national, state, and local health guidelines and requirements, and adhering to those measures LIM College deems safe and appropriate for its campus. These measures include, but are not limited to:  health screenings, temperature checks, social distancing, wearing masks or other facial coverings, using other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), not reporting to class or work if sick, viral testing, contact tracing, and isolating and quarantining when required. All members of the LIM College community agree to this shared responsibility not just for themselves, but for the health and safety of others, and because this is consistent with the spirit of LIM College.
