Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is based on total credits attempted* and the attainment of a minimum cumulative GPA according to the chart below. All students’ records are reviewed at the end of each fall and spring semester. Students who fail to make SAP are placed on Academic Probation .
*Total Credits Attempted includes:
- credits attempted at LIM College (includes all completed courses with an earned Letter Grade or Pass/Fail grade)
- courses with an earned “FA” (Failure for Lack of Attendance) grade
- withdrawn (“W”) courses
- accepted transfer credits listed on LIM College transcript
A student placed on Academic Probation must satisfy the terms of their academic probation plan to avoid Academic Dismissal from the College. In the event a student is academically dismissed from the College, they may petition in writing to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to return for a semester on Conditional Academic Probation.
