Attendance

Student success requires active and regular participation in the class community. Students should attend all scheduled face-to-face and virtual meetings and complete assignments as detailed below.   

Students should complete work requirements according to posted deadlines. Because missing significant portions of a class compromises a student’s ability to meaningfully learn course material, any student who is listed as absent in 40% or more of recorded attendance entries (excused or unexcused) will fail and receive an FA for Failure to Attend.  

Attendance is taken as follows: 

In face-to-face courses, attendance is taken the day of each class meeting, either once or twice per week. 

In hybrid courses (hybrid in-person/ hybrid virtual), attendance is taken twice weekly: 

• Once for presence on the day of the scheduled class meeting  

• Once for submission of coursework deliverables on Canvas each week between Monday and Sunday  

In fully online classes, attendance is taken once weekly for online work completed between Monday and Sunday.
