CARE 4821 - Senior Co-op for Business of Fashion With clear career goals and a proven ability to be successful academically and professionally, our students engage in an “entry-level equivalent” work opportunity for their culminating senior year experience. This culminating experience is both rigorous and significant. Over the course of the semester, students will complete a minimum of 380 hours of high-level work in their chosen career field. The student, the college, and the employer will develop and document an individualized plan for the student, emphasizing important learning objectives relevant to the student’s career goals.
Our employer partners often use co-op as a pipeline to test out a promising candidate for full-time employment after graduation. In addition to assignments and discussions reflecting on and analyzing the current co-op experience and each student’s career journey, thus far, the course will continue building on each student’s job search preparation and career discovery process. While success can be defined in many ways, this course is designed to prepare you, a future professional, to effectively navigate the process of identifying and securing a meaningful career. Through the readings, practice activities, hearing from guest speakers, and exploring the array of career resources at LIM College, the ultimate goal of this course is to help you become confident in your ability to secure a professional level job after college, and achieve the next step in your professional development. credit(s): 6 Prerequisite(s): CARE 1300, CARE 1620, CARE 4800
