MNGT 4650 - Leadership and Negotiation Marketing, Management & Finance This is an applied course in organizational behavior, addressing the behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations in the context of competitive situations. It provides an analytical and intellectual examination and reflection of certain core issues in the practice of leadership. Students develop negotiation and leadership skills through experiencing negotiation and conflict resolution, including learning to evaluate the costs and benefits of alternative actions and how to manage the negotiation process. In addition to the theory and exercises presented in class, students practice negotiating and develop their leadership skills with role-playing simulations that cover a range of topics. These objectives are achieved through open discussion, honest self-assessment, experiential exercises, and observation of real-life leadership practice. The course emphasizes honest relationships and dialogue, risk-taking, dedication to the topic of leadership, initiative, and exploring the confusion and gray areas involved in these topics. credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): MNGT 2310 or MNGT 2310H
