MATH 2610H - Honors Survey of Statistics Arts & Sciences This course provides an introduction to statistical analysis with emphasis on business applications. It enhances conceptual understanding and computation of descriptive and inferential statistics through a hands-on approach. Spreadsheet software is used to facilitate the coverage of some topics and enrich students’ understanding. Students are required to complete a semester-long final project which includes developing and conducting a survey, analysis, reporting, and presenting their results. In addition, calculus will be integrated to enrich students’ understanding of selected topics. Topics covered include descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency, measures of variability, and measures of location) and inferential statistics (probability, discrete and continuous distributions, correlation and regression analysis, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing). credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): TECH 1310 and enrollment in the Fashion Scholars Program, or by permission of the Department Chair
