MATH 2750H - Honors Statistics Arts & Sciences This course is an introductory course that assumes knowledge of calculus. Selected topics will be covered at an advanced level. This course provides a firm foundation in the concepts of statistics with a heavy emphasis on business applications. Topics covered include: descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency, variability and position) and inferential statistics (probability- random variables and distribution, normal distribution analysis, F-distribution, regression analysis, correlation coefficients and hypothesis testing). Emphasis is placed on understanding data analysis and interpretation. Computations are facilitated using Excel and Maple 14 to further enhance students’ understanding of statistical concepts. credit(s): 4 Prerequisite(s): TECH 1310 and enrollment in the Fashion Scholars Program, or by permission of the Department Chair
