FASH 1210 - Retailing Fashion Merchandising Retailing is a combination of activities involved in selling products and services directly to the consumer. This course will focus on the evolution of retailing and the distribution models that operate both domestically and internationally in an omni-channel environment. The various functions of retailers will be covered, including: establishing an image, merchandise buying and pricing, human resources, store operations, store layout and design, and management information systems. How retailers implement new technologies and take corporate social responsibility into account will also be discussed. The text will be supplemented with current events and assignments to discuss the constantly changing retail landscape, stimulate critical thinking skills, and develop a participative classroom environment. credit(s): 3 Prerequisite(s): It is highly recommended that EECM 1802 or EECM 1803 be taken either before or at the same time as FASH 1210
