FASH 4921 - Senior Capstone Orals - Fashion Merchandising (BPS)

The capstone project requires the application and synthesis of the Fashion BPS Curriculum to create the assortment planning process in a fashion business. Students will follow standard industry processes including analysis of the consumer, product ideation, product development, global sourcing strategies, and tech packs, developed by utilizing Web PDM to create the tech packs for a minimum of 5 styles, among other key issues relevant to the fashion industry assortment planning process. Projects can be based on a wide variety of related fashion industries including women’ swear, men’s wear, children’s wear, accessories, home, etc. Drawing upon your classroom experience, industry knowledge, as well as your own work experience, you will collaborate on a group project to develop a new product line. Student teams will create a comprehensive research paper covering the topics in the course outline.
