MATH 1501 - Business Calculus IArts & Sciences Previous Course Number: MFTC 214
This course is designed to establish a foundation in calculus and its applications in the business world. Topics to be discussed include functions, limits, derivatives of functions, theory of maxima and minima, antiderivatives, integration of function, optimization problems, related rates, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. This course has a computer laboratory component. MAPLE, a world-leading algebra computing software, will be used to help students visualize various concepts developed in class. credit(s): 4 Prerequisite(s): MATH 1501 or equivalent and enrollment in the Fashion Scholars Program, or by permission of the Dean of Academic Affairs
