MATH 2750H - Honors StatisticsArts & Sciences Previous Course Number: MFTC 315H
This course is an introductory course that assumes knowledge of calculus. Selected topics will be covered at an advance level. This course provides a firm foundation of the concepts of statistics with a heavy emphasis in business applications. The topics to be covered include; descriptive statistics (measures of central tendency, variability and position), and inferential statistics (probability- random variables and distribution, normal distribution analysis, ?², F-distribution, regression analysis, correlation coefficients and hypothesis testing). Emphasis is placed on understanding data analysis and interpretation. Computations are facilitated using Excel and Maple 14 to further enhance students’ understanding of statistical concepts. Corequisite: Enrollment in the Fashion Scholars Program or by permission of the Dean of Academics. credit(s): 4 Prerequisite(s): MATH 1502,TECH 1310 and enrollment in the Fashion Scholars Program, or by permission of the Dean of Academics
