This class enhances academic, social, and professional communication skills for international students. It does so by engaging students in writing, listening, and speaking activities relevant to their curriculum. Students will learn the correct usage of the English language. By engaging in conversation groups and working on academic assignments from individual course schedules, students will be better able to experience language competency within the context of their college experiences. In addition, this course seeks to foster an understanding of American culture and the social skills necessary for effective personal and professional communication. Through sensitivity to cultural differences, students will appreciate the range of intercultural competence.
