MNGT 402 - Human Resource Management


Students acquire an understanding of current theories and practices related to recruiting, selecting and retaining talented employees, analyzing and pricing jobs, establishing fringe benefit programs, handling grievances and discipline, designing training programs, evaluating employees, and keeping a diverse workforce engaged and productive. The role of unions and labor law in human resource management will also be discussed, along with the application of basic federal and state regulations. Students gain an appreciation for the strategic role played by HR, particularly in times of organizational transformation.
