ACOM 239 - The Immigrant Experience What does it mean to be an American? Is there such a designation as a real American? Or a “real” America? This course looks at the individual and group experiences of the immigrants who came to America from all corners of the world. Through literature, history, films, lectures, and field trips, the unique contributions of different groups are examined from various viewpoints, recounting the joys and hardships of becoming “American.” 3 credits Prerequisite: ACOM 111-English Composition I
