MPSC 662 - Regulatory Compliance in the Cannabis Industry

Graduate Division
In this course students will review and discuss the regulatory issues surrounding the cannabis industry. Currently, the cannabis industry operates under state guidelines in those states where medical and/or recreational/adult-use cannabis has been approved. These regulations vary from state to state and are compounded by the fact that the federal government still considers the cultivation, possession, and consumption of cannabis to be illegal as listed as a schedule one drug. Students will develop a product plan for a product of their choosing. Through the creation of this product plan, students will cultivate a knowledge of specific and broad regulatory issues for each step in the product development lifecycle.
