MPSC 664 - The Marketing of CannabisGraduate Division In this introductory course, students will learn about the complexities of marketing for cannabis companies, explore how companies are navigating federal law and state regulations to reach consumers, and discuss ethical issues related to marketing of cannabis products. This is a comprehensive course for the future of creative and strategic cannabis industry marketing professionals. This course requires preparation of a real-world marketing strategy for an existing or envisioned cannabis brand, and considers current regulations, their limitations, and opportunities. Students will select one of the following to work on: hemp/CBD company, ancillary product or fashion brand, medicinal cannabis brand, recreational cannabis brand, or another category, as approved by the professor. This course will review current trends in social and digital marketing and how cannabis businesses are navigating the complexities of state specific, and federal, law. credit(s): 3
