Statement of Shared Responsibility and Acknowledgment of Ongoing Unique Circumstances for 2021-2022: Health & Safety

The continuation of the national and international emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic has created unique and ongoing challenges not only in the United States but around the world. As the pandemic has changed how we live, learn, and work, LIM College has adapted in providing flexible academic options, co-curricular opportunities, and responsive student services that include new ways for the college community to interact with each other.

As New York, the country, and the world works diligently towards emergence from this pandemic, we know that LIM College will provide our students with an innovative, robust, and full College experience in the 2021-2022 academic year. While the shape of these individual and collective academic and non-academic experiences may be different than they were pre-pandemic, they will continue to be the excellent, collegial, and productive LIM experiences that you deserve and cherish.  To do so, we must remain vigilant in our shared responsibility as a caring and compassionate College community and in our efforts to protect each other and ourselves against the ongoing threat of this evolving virus and continuing pandemic.

  • LIM College remains steadfast in our commitment to the health and safety of the entire community. The welfare of every member of our community has been and will continue to be at the forefront of decisions made.  Having said that, none of us can guarantee what shape COVID-19 will take in the future, and none of us - including LIM College - can guarantee a COVID-19-free environment. This is simply not feasible. It would be disingenuous to suggest otherwise. In complete transparency, all students who choose to return to the physical campus of LIM College understand that there is some risk for contracting COVID-19. Please be aware that the College is continuing to take all required steps to mitigate this risk, but we cannot categorically guarantee this will not happen.
  • Taking steps to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infections (or any other spread of disease) at LIM College is a shared responsibility. Every member of our community must do their part. This means adhering to national, state, and local health guidelines and requirements as they evolve, and adhering to those measures LIM College deems safe and appropriate for its campus. These measures may include, but are not limited to:  health screenings, temperature checks, social distancing, wearing masks or other facial coverings, using other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), not reporting to class or work if sick, vaccinating (as required), participating in campus surveillance testing, obtaining PCR/molecular diagnostic test results, contact tracing, and isolating and quarantining when required. All members of the LIM College community agree to this shared responsibility not just for themselves, but for the health and safety of others, and because this is consistent with the spirit of LIM College.
