Academic Probation

To be considered in good academic standing, graduate students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. Students whose cumulative GPA is below a 3.00 are placed on academic probation for one semester. During that time, the student must return to good academic standing by raising their cumulative GPA to a 3.00 by the end of the probationary period. If students do not raise their overall GPA to at least a 3.00 by the end of the probationary period, they will be subject to dismissal . To assist the student in focusing on their academic performance, participation in one-credit internships and volunteer opportunities through the Department of Career and Internship Services are restricted. Main campus students may register for no more than nine credits in a semester.  Online program students on academic probation may register for no more than three credits during Semester 1 and six credits during Semester 2. Students who wish to take more than the permitted course load, must gain approval from the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs or designee.
