Study Abroad


Travel Courses

Please note: Students are required to have a GPA of 2.50 or higher and must have been at LIM for at least two semesters in order to be eligible to participate. Interested students must complete an application and be accepted to the program of their choice in order to participate.

 

Cross-Cultural Analysis
Students travel abroad during Winter Intersession to several European cities, studying the fashion, culture, and history of the chosen area. This program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate students have the option of taking the course for credit (one time only) or as a non-credit course. 

 

Summer Study Abroad Programs

Please note: Students are required to have a GPA of 3.00 or higher and must have second-semester freshman status or above in order to be eligible to participate. Interested students must complete an application and be accepted to the program of their choice in order to participate.

 

French Fashion Analysis
Students at second-semester freshman level or above are eligible to spend two weeks studying in Paris at Mod’Art, a French fashion institution. This program is led by an LIM College faculty member and takes place during the summer semester. Students who successfully complete all course requirements earn 3 credits.

Business, Fashion and Culture of Asia
Students spend approximately three weeks traveling to several cities in Asia, visiting fashion, cultural and historic sites. This program takes place during the summer semester and is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate students have the option of taking the course for credit or as a non-credit course.

Rebirth and Revolution: The Arts in Florence
Students at second-semester freshman level or above are eligible to spend three weeks studying in Florence, Italy at the Florence University of the Arts. This program is led by an LIM College faculty member and takes place during the summer semester. Students who successfully complete all course requirements earn 6 credits.

 

Full Semester Exchange Programs

Please note: Students are required to have a GPA of 3.00 or higher in order to be eligible to participate. Students must be at junior level or above at the time of exchange, with the exception of the American Univesity of Rome and Suffolk University - Madrid Campus programs, which accept sophomores. Students must be registered for the equivalent of a full-time course load at all times while abroad and must earn the equivalent of a D or higher in their courses abroad for the credits to be accepted at LIM College.

 

Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences
Students spend a semester at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam (AUAS), the Netherlands, taking business, management, finance or elective courses. At AUAS, students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (August to January), or spring (January through July) semesters.

American Business School Paris
Students spend a semester at the American Business School Paris in Paris (ABSP) in France, taking business, management, marketing or elective courses. At ABSP, students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (September through December), or spring (January through May).

American University of Rome
Students spend a semester at the American University of Rome (AUR) in Rome, Italy, taking business, management, marketing or elective courses. At AUR, students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (August through December), or spring (January through May).

London College of Fashion
Students spend a three-month term at the London College of Fashion (LCF) in London, England. Students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (September through November) or the spring (January through March). This condensed program requires a high level of independent study and applicants will be required to show a high level of maturity and academic seriousness to participate.

PSB Paris School of Business
Students spend a semester at the Paris School of Business (PSB) in Paris, France, taking business, management, marketing or elective courses. At PSB, students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (September through December), or spring (January through May).

Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology
Students spend a semester at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Melbourne, Australia or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, taking business, fashion or elective courses. At RMIT, students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (July through November), or spring (March through June).

Suffolk University - Madrid Campus
Students spend a semester at Suffolk University’s Madrid, Spain campus, taking business or elective courses.  Students also have the opportunity to complete an internship as well. At Suffolk’s Madrid campus, students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (September through December), or spring (January through May).

University of Shih Chien
During the fall (September through January) or spring (January through June) semester, students study in the Fashion Merchandise Management Program at the University of Shih Chien in Taipei, Taiwan. Students complete one semester’s worth of courses in the areas of fashion and business.

University of Westminster
During the spring semester, students study in the Department of Fashion at the University of Westminster in London, England. Participants complete one semester’s worth of courses, which may include an internship. The spring semester runs from January through May.

Visual College of Art and Design
Students spend a three-month term at the Visual College of Art and Design (VCAD) in Vancouver, Canada, taking fashion merchandising, marketing, or elective courses. At VCAD, students complete one semester’s worth of courses either in the fall (October through December), or spring (January through April).
