Readmission


This policy applies to LIM College students who have not been granted a bachelor’s degree from LIM College or the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (the College) and did not officially receive a Leave of Absence, or whose Leave of Absence has expired, or did not officially receive a Medical Withdrawal, or whose medical Withdrawal has expired.

  • A student who leaves the College in good standing may be readmitted to the College within three academic years after the last full semester of completed coursework.
    • A student must be in good disciplinary standing at the time he/she left the College.
    • If another college or university was attended during the leave, an official transcript must be presented to the Registrar prior to readmittance.
    • A student away from the College for less than two semesters (excluding summers) may be readmitted under the curriculum in effect during the original date of entry. A student away from the College for more than two semesters, and no more than six semesters, will be readmitted under the most recent major and degree requirements in effect at the time of their readmittance.
    • If a student withdraws from the College for an entire semester, for the purposes of this policy, that semester will count as semester one.
  • In order to be considered for readmittance to the College the student must submit a completed Application for Readmittance and pay the readmittance application fee.

Any student who does not meet the above criteria must reapply for admission to the College through the Office of Admissions.

A student who left the College after being academically dismissed must go through the Academic Dismissal appeals process. A student who left the College after being placed on Academic Probation must be approved to return by the Assistant Dean of Student Academic Affairs before beginning her/his program of studies.

The readmittance policy does not apply to programs in the LIM College Center for Graduate Studies & Continuing Education. Alumni or students who wish to be considered for admission to programs in the LIM College Center for Graduate Studies & Continuing Education must apply directly to the Center for Graduate Studies & Continuing Education’s Office of Admissions.
