To remain eligible for enrollment and maintain good academic standing, graduate students at LIM College must demonstrate Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). SAP is evaluated at the end of each semester and includes both a qualitative (GPA-based) and quantitative (credit completion) component.

Definitions:
- Credits Attempted include all LIM College courses with an earned letter grade (A to C , W & F or P), as well as courses resulting in W (Withdrawal) or FA (Failure due to Attendance).
- Credits Completed refers to courses successfully passed with a grade of C or higher or P (Pass).
- Unsuccessful Attempts include grades of F, FA, and W.
Note: The lowest passing grade in the LIM College Marcuse School of Graduate Studies is a C. There are no C- or D grades awarded in graduate-level courses.
SAP Evaluation:
Students who do not meet either the GPA and completion rate standards will be placed on Academic Probation. To return to good standing, students must:
- Raise their cumulative GPA to at least 3.00
- Successfully complete at least 50% of all cumulative credits attempted
Students may be on academic probation for no more than two enrolled semesters. Failure to meet SAP standards by the end of the second semester will result in academic dismissal.
Appeals and Conditional Probation:
Students who are academically dismissed may petition in writing to the Dean of Graduate Studies for readmission on Conditional Academic Probation. If granted, specific conditions will be outlined and monitored throughout the term.
Degree Completion Credit Limits:
As part of maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress, students must also complete their degree requirements within the designated attempted credit limit for their program, based on continuous enrollment:
- MS/MPS students: 45 attempted credits
- MBA students: 58.5 attempted credits
Appeals to this timeframe will only be considered in cases of documented medical leave or significant financial hardship and must be submitted to the Dean of Graduate Studies.
To receive Title IV federal student assistance, graduate students must meet the standards specified above and may not attempt more than 150 percent of the credits normally required for completion of the degree. For MPS/MS degrees only up to 45 credits are eligible for financial aid and for MBA only up to 58.5 credits are eligible for financial aid.
