Attendance

Student success requires active and regular participation in the class community. Students are expected to attend all scheduled in-person and virtual meetings and complete course deliverables.   

Attendance is recorded  as follows:

The grade of “FA” will be assigned to a student who has failed a course with a grade of “F” and has 40% unexcused absences in the course. The grade of “FA” calculates negatively into the GPA the same as an earned “F” 

Courses that meet twice a week (either in-person or virtually), attendance is taken each class meeting.

Courses that meet once per week (either in-person or virtually), attendance is taken each class meeting.

In fully online classes, attendance is taken weekly based upon online deliverables submitted between Monday and Sunday of the previous week.

• Effective Fall 2025, a grading policy was adopted that deducts points based on unexcused absences.    Refer to course syllabus for exact details.
