LANG 2341 - Chinese Language and Culture I

Arts & Sciences Department
This course provides an introduction to Chinese culture and modern standard language (Mandarin). No prior experience in Chinese language is required. Students will learn to read and write simplified Chinese characters and to participate in simple social and business interactions with Chinese speakers. Emphasis is placed on practical linguistic and cultural approaches to Chinese commerce and society. This course is for beginners and is not appropriate for those who are already Chinese language speakers.
