FASH 2450 - Textiles for the Home

Textiles for the Home is the study of the many fabrications used in the home furnishings industry. This course will provide students with a thorough understanding of the fiber properties and construction of materials used in bedding, bath and upholstery products. Textile dyeing, printing and finishing methods for home furnishings textiles will be analyzed with the use of a fabric swatch kit. In addition, the global nature of the textile industry, along with environmental impacts of textile production, will be explored.
