Visual Merchandising
Previous Course Number: VMER 220

What is a brand? This course will examine the basic components of brand identity and students will develop a clear understanding of the process for creating a strong brand, with an emphasis on the development of a brand identity from concept to execution. Students will begin by inventing a product or service. They will then identify the organization’s personality, attributes, values and positioning. Using these definitions as a foundation, students will use Adobe Creative Suite to develop the brand’s visual voice through relevant touch points including logo design, print collateral, web, packaging, and environmental graphics. In-class exercises, research, group critiques, writing and presentations will be included.
