VMER 330 - Product Presentation

This course offers an analysis of current presentation practices, theories, and techniques. The coursework deals with methodology, themes, motifs, and inherent qualities of varying classifications of merchandise. Students analyze the store as a “branded environment” and gain an understanding of the integral role of visual merchandising in that environment. Hands-on work brings presentation concepts into three-dimensional realities, giving students experience with merchandise and presentation tools. Visual merchandising techniques are translated into studio setups that include propping, showcase display, and mannequin presentation. Additionally, students gain an understanding of the design process, from schematic design to design development and implementation.
