MNGT 310 - Global Management

The operation of a global enterprise imposes new demands upon its organization. Global Management explores, through a variety of perspectives, what it takes to successfully operate a global firm. These perspectives include: an understanding of organizational structure and the importance of headquarters and centralization; the firm’s operations and international management assignments; production, marketing, and sales activities; the relationship between the multinational corporation and its host governments; and functional disciplines such as human resource management, product development, quality control, and public relations. Throughout the course students will be systematically introduced to the complexities and challenges of managing in various markets and cultures. The course is complemented by case study analysis, research on leading global companies, and book reviews covering topics on international business and transnational management.
