MNGT 302 - Strategic Management

This course provides a theoretical and practical framework for studying the way companies identify and develop strategic initiatives and the implications these decisions have on managers and employees throughout the organization as well as other stakeholder groups. The essence of strategic management is reinforced throughout the course – the process of formulating strategic plans, implementing them so as to gain support, and evaluating results so that plans remain current as changes occur internally and externally. The extensive use of case studies and examples drawn from current events encourage in-depth analyses of organizations including company strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Business ethics and corporate social responsibility are ongoing themes as students learn to make sound business decisions.
