ACOM 212 - History of New York City

This course provides a study of America’s global city through text, film, photographs, museums, and, when available, guest speakers. Students will discover how and why the small Dutch settlement named New Amsterdam in 1624 went on to become the world’s leader in many areas of culture, as well as in business and fashion. At least two field trips, to be determined by the course professor, are required.
