MFTC 219H - Honors Spreadsheet Applications


This course provides a hands-on approach to spreadsheet analysis, performance management, and graphics, using Microsoft Excel 2007. Topics to be discussed include using Excel to: enter data, develop formulas, correct mistakes, use built-in formulas and functions, perform “scenario analysis,” create graphs and charts, conduct financial forecasts, manage data, and print worksheets. Advanced topics will include logical and lookup functions used in buyers’ spreadsheets, and programming using Visual Basic. The course will explore dual and transitional applications between ACCESS and Excel such as querying data in ACCESS to generate Excel pivot tables.
