MNGT 322 - Fashion Law


The purpose of the Fashion Law course is to provide students with an understanding of the laws applicable to the fashion industry. As the fashion industry has developed over the past 30 years, it has developed unique legal issues. Upon completion of this course students should be familiar with the fundamental principles and relevant case law and statutes involved in the areas of fashion law listed below, and should understand how to use this knowledge in their future business lives. It will also serve to improve their critical thinking skills as they apply the applicable law to real life scenarios. Other topics of relevance may be explored as time permits and/or at the discretion of the instructor, including field trips to court when relevant proceedings are underway, and/or attorney offices specializing in Fashion Law, as well as guest speakers.
