WORK 190 - Career Exploration Internship

The intent of this course is to add to the student’s exposure to areas of the fashion and marketing industries beyond the Work Project I and II and Senior Co-op programs and to provide a letter of credit to the employer. The internship must be in an area relevant to the student’s overall career goals and experience. Students will have exposure to the non-retailing business aspects of the fashion industry, generally in areas such as marketing, publishing, merchandising, buying, or product development. The internship gives students an opportunity to evaluate, appraise, and relate actual job experience to work learned in the classroom. At the end of the semester students are evaluated and graded by their supervisor. In addition, each student must prepare two job-related objectives and maintain a journal to document that these objectives were achieved. This course is offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer.
