VMER 110 - Color and Design


Students are introduced to basic art elements (line, shape, texture, value, and color) and their relationship to art projects. The compositional aspects of these art elements, such as rhythm, repetitions, contrast, balance, and visual interchange will also be covered. Students will independently develop, compose, and complete art assignments relating to design elements and compositional aspects. Two-dimensional projects involving the art elements and their relationship to visual arts in our environment will be completed by all students.

Prerequisite: VMER 100-Introduction to Visual Merchandising or VMER 100H-Honors Introduction to Visual Merchandising or permission of the department
